Villas and Condos If you are thinking about renting a home, villa or condo, you probably want to either stay for an extended period of time in a home-like setting or simply want more room and amenities than come with a standard hotel room. Rentals in the Keys are classified as long term (more than 28 days), short term (7-28 days), or transient (1-7 days). Long and short-term rentals are typically managed by real estate management companies. We represent transient rentals almost exclusively. Many accommodations in the Keys, have cooking facilities (are self-catering) for those who would prefer not to eat out three meals a day, or have suites to accommodate families and groups. In the Middle Keys, for example, Hawks Cay offers a very nice selection of villas. Properties such as Hampton Inn and Suites in Islamorada as well as Marina Del Mar in Key Largo also offer one and two bedroom condo suites with full kitchens. In Key West, Sunrise Suites has really lovely two bedroom, two bath units. While we will not happily direct you to a long or short term rental agent, we would be happy to help you with reservations like those above. Please note that a short term rental ban has been implemented in unincorporated Monroe County and in Key West. Short term rentals are illegal in improved subdivisions, native areas, and trailer parks. The ban does not effect Key Colony Beach, Marathon, and Islamorada. Some rental venues in Key West (i.e. condos and gated neighborhoods) are either exempt from or litigating the ban. Before you rent a residence for less than a month, you should verify that it is a legitimate rental. A visit by code enforcement or the police and possible subsequent fines can spoil an otherwise delightful vacation. For more information, rates and availability, call us at 800 403-2154 |
